Model 1886 Line
Infantry visor cap of dark blue wool with yellow band and piping. Has a
bound black leather visor and brass five point star insignia. Cap has
overall moth tracking and some heavy mothing on the right side of the
band. Interior lined in black cotton with an inset pocket in the crown
designed to hold the white summer cover when not in use. The black leather
sweatband has come loose for about a third of the way around at the back.
Few artifacts survive from this important early 20th Century conflict that
established Japan as a world power and heralded the end of Czarist Russia.
