| HOME | 7" diameter brass
plaque with raised 'Old English' style letter "R" in gold painted finish
on a blue field with a raised gold border. Has six holes to place
attachment screws. Complete with an old paper tag with hand written
inscription "From one of the boats / U.S.S. Raleigh" Retains about 85% of
the painted finish. Came as one of several Spanish American War souvenirs
of an unnamed sailor from the Raleigh. The USS Raleigh was a Cruiser with
Admiral Dewey's fleet at the Battle of Manila Bay. Good condition.
