| HOME | Model 1912 khaki
cotton summer tunic with bronze Type I "US' and Chemical Corps collar
discs. Left sleeve presents an applied construction blue and yellow wool
divided shield on OD wool unit shoulder insignia, discharge chevron and a
single gold braid overseas service chevron. The left cuff and left skirt
pocket area has significant spotted staining where it appears a bleaching
agent has been splattered. The collar interior retains a paper label
marked "U.S.A. COATS / Size 38." A previous collector has written on the
inner facing " PVT. CLAUDE L. HAMMOND / 2709926 / 1st GAS & FLAME REGIMENT
/ COMPANY." The tunic also comes with a set of ID tags named to the
tunic's owner and a souvenir German 1914 2nd. Class Iron Cross, all
attached to the same khaki neck cord. Nice small identified group with
scarce insignia and just a few minor flaws. Fair to good condition.
